Maths on the Move
We have completed this very effective and entertaining workshop with Comprehensive and Primary Schools. Maths on the Move shows the relevance of WHY we learn maths and how we use it in every aspect of our daily life. From setting simple budgets for our holiday spending money, to using it in the workplace. The mathematical ability of the children is not important as it is the relevance we emphasise as the key point. We travel back in time to see the consequences of getting it wrong, from big engineering projects not happening because they went over budget to setting a simple household budget to prevent Jeff sliding further into debt. The pupils help with straightforward calculations. We perform three humorous interactive scenes. It greatly increases the pupils’ enthusiasm for learning all about mathematics!
