Jack Crawford - A Local Hero
Who was Jack Crawford? Which part of the North East was he from? What makes him a local hero?
We have an amazing production, first performed for the maritime heritage, now adapted for production in schools. It tells the story, with lots of humour of Jack and life on-board the warship HMS Venerable. We see the relationship between Jack, his mates and the officers during the battle of Camperdown. A fantastic interactive local historic project, it stimulates the desire to learn more about our region and its exciting and sometimes dangerous past. We audition, cast the students, and produce the show in one week, working in the mornings or afternoons. The show is performed on the Friday. We provide a director, an actor, costumes, props, set and sound.
